Box Hill

Box Hill is the perfect place to discover the Surrey Hills AONB.
Forming part of the North Downs, Box Hill has views across the surrounding countryside so the climb to the top is well worth it!
There are numerous trails and paths leading you through woodlands of rare box trees, yew, oak, and beech, and across grasslands scattered with wildflowers.
The National Trust maintains this beautiful part of Surrey so there are many NT trails to explore.
We visited Box Hill in autumn on a rainy day, and even then, it was lovely!
Our own photos do not do the place justice and therefore we have used the images of the official tourist board of Surrey.
Walking
The Box Hill Stepping Stones walk is an easy family walk that leads to a perfect spot to picnic by the River Mole, at the foot of Box Hill. Kids will love it!
Or try the Box Hill Hike. This demanding circular hike is eight miles long. It should take around four hours.
We did a 12-mile circular walk from Box Hill to Leith Hill. Despite the weather, it was still great fun!
