Nestled in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, The Mason Arms is a stylish country pub and restaurant with 5 bedrooms.

These rooms form the Oxfordshire base of the Artist Residence boutique hotel family.

With comfy nooks, open fireplaces and great food The Mason Arms offers a quintessential British Inn experience with a twist.

Dishes are simply delicious and wherever possible the ingredients are sourced from within the county.

The atmosphere is intimate and a bit eccentric at the same time. We just love it!

Lower Windrush Valley

Located just 2 miles south of The Mason Arms, the Lower Windrush Valley covers 28 square kilometres of West Oxfordshire.

It incorporates Rushy Common and neighbouring Tar Lakes, a floodplain of the River Windrush from Witney to where it joins the River Thames at Newbridge.

Rushy Common Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife but unfortunately public access is not permitted across the reserve. However, the bird hide on the southern shore offers good views across the site.

Rushy Common car park provides a good starting point for circular walks in the wider area.

Follow a three-mile circuit south for a gentle walk beside the River Windrush.

Or a three-mile circuit north to South Leigh to see the wall paintings in the parish church of St James the Great. Then go for lunch at The Mason Arms afterwards.
