Just a couple of miles west of Sheringham on the Norfolk Coast AONB, lies Sheringham Park.

This stunning park was designed by Humphry Repton (1752-1818), one of England’s most celebrated landscape gardeners.

Repton called Sheringham Park “my most favourite work”. Over the decades, Repton’s original design has been altered several times, but his vision survived.

Sheringham Park surrounds Sheringham Hall which is privately owned, but the park is in the care of the National Trust and open to visitors.

It is one of the most beautiful parks in Norfolk and one that you should most definitely visit. The views are spectacular, and the colours in the park during the different seasons are simply stunning.

Walking

Three, clearly signed circular walking trails begin at the entrance: the Temple walk, the Repton walk and the Ramblers route.

We suggest starting with the Repton walk which uses the carriageway that was originally laid out by Repton before proceeding on to the Gazebo on top of Oak Wood Hill.

If you have more time to spend then by all means, go and explore the wide-open spaces surrounding the park.

A 6-mile circular starts at Sheringham Park and takes in the undulating clifftops between Sheringham and Weybourne, the sweeping parkland, ancient oak woodland and the famous rhododendrons of Sheringham Park.

Or head for Weybourne and follow the Peddars Way and the Norfolk Coast Path back to Sheringham Park. Enjoy this wonderfully varied 7-mile walk through parkland, fields, woods, and along the cliff edge by the sea.
