Salthouse Marshes in Norfolk consists of small pools and extensive grazing marsh. It is owned and maintained by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.

Behind the salt marshes, a shingle beach joins Kelling beach to the east and Cley-next-the-Sea to the west.

It is superb birding territory and ideal for walking and enjoying wildlife.

Continue to walk west and explore the Cley Marshes Nature Reserve and visit the iconic Cley Windmill, a north Norfolk landmark.

Head out for the Norfolk Coast AONB in wintertime! Large flocks of Brent geese cloud the sky here, and a variety of slender waders probe the marshes for food.

It is simply mesmerising when the days shorten, and nature takes over!
