Huckworthy Cottage
Nestled in the Walkham valley on the South Western slopes of Dartmoor National Park, Huckworthy Cottage is a beautiful self-catering holiday cottage.
It is part of Walkham Valley cottages and on site there are 3 holiday cottages in total. So you are not isolated and complety alone.
The owners live on site so if you are in need of anything, Masha and Luke are happy to help you out.
Huckworthy Cottage is lovingly renovated with luxury and comfort in mind.
We especially liked the enclosed garden with patio furniture which backs onto open pasture.
It is a perfect country escape in Devon.
It is ideally situated to explore Dartmoor National Park and to venture out further to the South Devon AONB.
You could also drive into Cornwall and explore the Tamar Valley AONB.
Walking
There are too many walks to choose from!
But make sure you plan ahead and take the challenges of Dartmoor seriously.
On Dartmoor there is no shelter from the rain and mist can descend suddenly leaving you with no idea where you are.
So use the OS Explorer map to safely plan your own route.
We explored the River Walkham by following a 7-mile section of the West Devon Way between Yelverton and Tavistock.
The West Devon Way runs for 37 miles between Okehampton and Plymouth, skirting the western edge of the moor.
