The Pointer

The Pointer is a country pub with rooms in the beautiful Buckinghamshire village of Brill.
It is located between the Cotswolds and the Chilterns and that makes it an ideal place to stay.
We have stayed here a couple of times and it has always been a genuinely nice experience.
We like the fact that our muddy boots are welcome!
The pub serves hearty and honest British pub food, driven by the seasons and the meat is supplied by Jon and Anna who run the Butchery next door.
You can spend the night in one of the characterful rooms above the pub, or ‘over the road’ in a converted 19th century red-brick cottage.
Some of the rooms do have a very low ceiling but we think it just ads to the charm.
Explore
9 miles from the Pointers sits Waddesdon Manor on the edge of the Chilterns. This National Trust property is well worth a visit.
The beautiful city of Oxford is only a 30-minute drive away. But there is so much more to explore, including the majestic Blenheim Palace.
Walking
Finally. Go and stretch your legs and walk towards the Brill Windmill. The mill was built around 1680 and is one of the few remaining post-mills in the country – certainly one of the best preserved.
